Voce and composer Morten Lauridsen

Voce had its first rehearsal with composer Morten Lauridsen on Sunday evening, which was nothing short of life-changing.  The man is not only a musical genius, but is also one of the most sincere people I have ever met. There are two must-attend events open to the public this weekend at Immanuel Congregational Church in Hartford with Mr. Lauridsen.

On Saturday morning, he will lead a two-hour workshop beginning at 10am on several of his well-known pieces.  Attendees will have the chance to sing and work through these pieces with Mr. Lauridsen at the piano, gaining insight into his compositional process and intent.

Voce will host a concert on Saturday night at 7:30pm featuring an all-Lauridsen program, with the composer at the piano.  We will also be joined by the University Singers from Central Connecticut State University.

Further information and tickets are available at www.voceinc.org.  Don’t miss this opportunity to meet one of the best-known American composers of our generation!
